Visiting Universal Orlando Resort theme parks in Florida just became more appealing for larger families thanks to the inclusion of family suites in the resorts new hotel, Cabana Bay.

For larger families like my own or for vacations that occur with extended family members like grandparents, it can be hard to find hotels that can accommodate the needs of larger families. Booking adjoining rooms can be one option, with many benefits, but for those planning a trip to Universal Orlando Resort, there will be a new option.

Scheduled to open in 2014, Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort will offer 900 family suites, capable of sleeping six and including a kitchen area. The hotel, which will be operated by Loews Hotels and Resorts, is designed to have a vintage feel, recalling the days of family road trips.

Along with offering families the larger rooms, staying at the Cabana Bay Hotel will have other guest benefits, such as the convenience of early park admission, proximity to Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Universal, and resort-wide charging privileges – though it will not offer complimentary Universal Express Unlimited Access offered at the other on-site hotels.

“Our new hotel will give guests an affordable, incredibly themed on-site hotel experience unlike anything else at our resort,” said Tom Williams, chairman and chief executive officer, Universal Parks & Resorts. “Our new family suites and family-value pricing will give our guests on-site options they’ve never had before.”
