I remember when grocery store shopping was more about getting in and out, making it as quick and painless as possible but after a recent visit to the reopening of Sobeys’ Laird store I’ve discovered the joy of shopping.
According to Eat Right Ontario we should be spending most of our time in the outside aisles.
Shop the outer aisles at the grocery store. Spend most of your time in the produce, bread, milk and meat sections of the store, where you will find a variety of fresh foods recommended in Eating Well with Canada’s Food Guide.
The layout of the Sobeys Laird store makes this easy. It’s like shopping in a market with fresh produce displayed in open stalls. I especially like the number of local and organic produce sold in Sobeys stores.
I love the fresh made sushi. I have a sushi bar in my local Sobeys though not as big as the one in the Laird location and it comes in handy for a quick bite to go. The extensive cheese selection is great whether you’re thinking of cooking or entertaining. The Laird location has a cheese ambassador to0 who helps customers discover new blends and there’s even a cheese sample station. I certainly hope this appears in my store soon.
Sobeys is turning grocery store shopping into an enjoyable experience again. I’ve seen some of these changes happening within my local shop and hopefully they’ll implement them in other stores.
Sobeys wants to get you excited about shopping again. I have two (2) $50 Sobeys gift cards to giveaway to two (2) EverythingMom readers. For a chance to win one of two gift cards comment in the form below letting me know when do you normally do your grocery shopping.
