When planning a family vacation in Anaheim, California, you won’t run into a shortage of accommodations options. But the right hotel offers you more than just a place to stay.
The Waterfront Beach Resort located on the beautiful coast of Huntington Beach (Surf City USA) offers wonderful ocean-view accommodations (in every room) but it’s the extra features that make it a hotel you want to stay at versus just crash for the night.
Cabanas by the pool aren’t unusual for many beachfront resorts, offering you lounge chairs shaded by the sun. The Waterfront Beach Resort cabanas are more like daybed. These raised loungers are padded’ pillowed. and wonderfully inviting with drapes you can draw close for privacy from other poolside guests. The space is perfect for an afternoon siesta in the California sun. You can book just the cabana for the day plus you can add drink or lunch service from the hotel’s Surf Hero restaurant and have them delivered cabana side. The only downside I see to these cabanas is my inability to want leave.
If you’re looking to spend some time on beautiful Huntington Beach, which is just across the street and a must visit, you can opt for the hotel’s Twice as Nice package, giving you four hours in a poolside cabana and four hours in a Waterfront Adventures cabana, located right on the beach. They’ll set it up for you too so all you have to do is walk over. Now that’s a vacation.
S’More Roasts on the Beach
During the day, Huntington Beach is great for making sandcastles, jumping waves and watching surfers. It’s also a great spot for watching the setting sun. Add to that the crackle of a firepit and taste of sweet treats and you now have the perfect way to end your day. The Hilton Waterfront Resort’s Beach Butlers can make it happen. They’ll get the firepit going, set up the beach chairs and even provide all the fixings for your S’Mores kit. All you need to do is sit back and enjoy. No need to worry about tidying up either as you stroll back to your room, ready for bed.
Free Smoothie for the Kids
As a parent, I love staying at a place that goes a little extra distance to make my kids feel special. Receiving a free smoothie is pretty special in my book and I don’t think the kids would complain. But there is a little challenge involved. Arrive at the Surf Hero shop by the pool before noon any day and recite the Surf Hero legend and you’ll be rewarded with a smoothie (kids 12 and under only). Not to worry, the Legend is printed right at the entrance of the shop so kids can start practicing right away.
Biking Along the Waterfront
One of the nice features of Huntington Beach is the wonderful bike path that stretches all along the beach and beyond. You can easily walk from the Waterfront Resort down to Main Street for shopping and dining, but if you’re looking for more adventure try traveling by bike. The hotel’s Waterfront Adventures can set you up with a cruiser, tandum bike, even a bike for the kids and take it our by the hour or for the whole day. If you’re looking to travel as a whole familyeep the family try renting a double surrey. You’re given a lock for your rental so you can park it, giving you freedom to checkout a different part of the beach or stop in for a handmade milkshake from Ruby’s Surf City Diner right on The Pier.
From Beachfront to Theme Park Rides
If you’re traveling with the family to California, you probably have a visit to Disneyland or other theme parks on your mind. The Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort is a drive away and even offers guests day trips to various theme parks in the area. Spend the day riding the roller coasters and the evening enjoying a cocktail to the sound of the ocean. It’s the best of two worlds, on one vacation.
These are just a few of the added features that make the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort more than just a room for the night. When you’re on vacation, who doesn’t want to really enjoy themselves? You can learn more about the Hilton by visiting their site.
Thanks to the folks at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort as well as the folks at the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau for the opportunity to visit Huntington Beach.
