National Book Club

I'm guessing that this book club no longer exsists. It's too bad because I really enjoyed it and miss it very much :-( does anyone know of any other online book clubs like this one ??

Ya I enjoyed it as well! I have been waiting and waiting, but after this long I doubt there will be another book. I just discovered librarything.com, it looks like there are book discussions on that site.

No problemo! Yes, what will happen is that the form is open until all copies of the book are claimed, at which time I close it. I then forward the addresses to the sponsor, who ships them directly. Odds are, you'll have your copy before the end of the month!

Hey Monof3boyz! Welcome to the group. What we do is this:

Every (ideally) month or so, I announce what the next book club selection will be. Right now we're finishing up Jodi Picoult's House Rules and I just announced (see the discussion above!) March's selection - Lisa Genova's Left Neglected. Usually during this announcement, there's a form you can fill out to receive a complimentary copy of the book* from the publisher.

Then, over other week or so, I throw a discussion question up in the above section, and everyone answers when they feel like, confers back and forth, etc. It's just basically an ongoing conversation, no pressure with timing or specific meeting times - so you can add into the conversation whenever you have the chance.

That's it! Any other questions, feel free to add them on here, or add me as a friend and you can message me privately!

* Members who receive the free copy are expected to participate in conversations for the book; lack of participation will factor into future high-demand freebies.
