One great way to save money on a family beach vacation in Hawaii is by staying at a hotel with a kitchen or kitchenette facilities. Being able to eat breakfast and lunch in your room and prepare snacks for the beach or when you go sightseeing can make a big difference in a family’s limited vacation budget. But who wants to hit the grocery store with kids when on vacation?

OHANA Hotels and Resorts now offers guests at its four Waikiki area locations the added convenience of a new grocery concierge service.

“Guests at the OHANA Waikiki East and OHANA Waikiki West can skip right to having the time of their lives on their Hawaiian getaway with all the snacks and sustenance they need to help them do just that,” said Tom Wakita, director of sales and marketing for OHANA Hotels & Resorts.  “Whether you have dietary restrictions or are traveling with a large family, this new service is just another way that OHANA Hotels & Resorts is working to make our guest stays easy, fun and as carefree as possible.”

Guests can pre-order their groceries through Island Grocery Service and have them delivered and put away in their room prior to checking in. There is a mimium grocery purchase of $50 US and the Hawaii General Excise Tax of 4.712 percent as well as a flat service fee of $25 US (no matter what size your order is) will be added to all orders. Orders can be placed as late as the day before your arrival (orders placed at 3 p.m. will be delivered by 3 p.m. the next day).

Now families can enjoy the savings of preparing and eating in their rooms without the added stress of having to go to the grocery store themselves. Sounds like a vacation to me.
