Inspirational Bible Verses for Kids

1. Colossians 3:20

“Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.”

As children, it is so hard for kids to remember to obey their parents, especially when they really want to do something. This verse, when learned at a young age, will help them to continue to remember that as they obey their parents, the Lord is well pleased.

2. Joshua 1:9

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

The Lord God is my strength, and he is always at my side. As we know this in all things, we will never be afraid, and this will help us to have faith over fear and be courageous in all things.

3. Psalm 107:1

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.”

Do your first suffer at times from the gimmies or even feeling like what they have is not enough? I love that this verse refocuses them on what is important, to thank the Lord, and to appreciate his love for them. As we are thankful, we can really recenter ourselves and find joy in the blessings we have been given.

4. Deuteronomy 6:5

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.”

Love the Lord God. Give him your heart, soul, and strength. As we turn this all over to the Lord, we are perfected in him, and then we truly become like the Little Children that are talked about throughout the Bible.

5. Colossians 3:2

“Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.”

Have we ever heard the saying to be of the world but not live in the world?

At times it is so difficult to have your eyes on your eternal reward in heaven while you see the riches of the Earth, but as we have an eternal perspective, this will help us return to our heavenly home.

6. Timothy 3:14-15

“But you must be faithful to all the things your parents taught you. You know you can trust them and what they say is true. They have taught you the Holy Scriptures from childhood, and hence you have the wisdom to receive salvation by trusting Our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Your parents always have your best interest at hand, and as they teach you foundational principles grounded in the gospel, you can trust what they say, and through this, you will never be led astray. What a great blessing this verse is in all of our lives.

7. Ephesians 4:32

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”

Loving one another, especially in today’s world, is so important. We are all imperfect humans trying to return to God after this life. As we learn to forgive and love one another, we get to see what the pure love of Christ is all about.

8. Hebrews 13:8

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

One of the most powerful scriptures of all time is this one. Jesus Christ does not change. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever—what a great reminder in today’s world that God and his son are constant and unchanging.

9. Matthew 19:14

“Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.'”

Over and over in the Bible, it says to be like the little children. This is said many times, not on accident. Little children and filled with the pure love of Christ and are innocent and pure. As we are like little children God welcomes us into the kingdom of God.

10. Proverbs 3:5

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”

Trust in the Lord. Times will become hard, you might start to think that you can do it on your own, especially of the philosophies of the world, but we must trust in Jesus Christ with everything that we can. As we do this, we will begin to understand at a deeper level and be able to truly have faith in trust in our Savior Jesus Christ and rely on him.

11. John 3:16

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Perhaps one of the most quoted scriptures in the Bible is one that should be at the top of your inspirational Bible verses for kids.

This verse reminds us of the love of God that he gave his son to come down to this Earth and Suffer for all of us, as imperfect humans, so that we could have eternal life and return to him. This is the purest love anyone could ever offer us.

God knew we would make mistakes, but he provided a way for us to overcome those mistakes and return to him.

12. Matthew 5:14

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

You are the light of the world. As you follow the Savior of Jesus Christ, then you will become a light on the hill to the world. They will look to you as an example and know that you are different and want the light that you have, which is the gospel of Jesus Christ.

13. Genesis 1:27

“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”

I love this verse for so many reasons. The first being that God created us. Each and every one of us. He did this in his own image, which means he created this to be like him but to be our own individual person. We are all uniquely special to him, and we are exactly how he intended us to be.

14. Psalm 136:1

“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.”

God is good. He has blessed our lives with so many wonderful blessings and has literally poured them into our lives. At times, especially the hard times, it is hard to know and see all of these blessings because we are blinded with the trial we are enduring, but as our eyes are open to Christ and God, we will see he is always there and loves us even as imperfect as we all our. Through this, we should always give thanks to the Lord.

15. Philippians 4:13

“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

If there was ever a time that you doubted the Lord, this verse helps kids to know that all things are possible through God. He is our power and our strength to overcome all.

16. Genesis 1:1

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth.”

The very first verse in the Bible might be the most read verse because of everyone who sets out to read the Bible. But this is a great verse to memorize because right at the beginning of the Bible, we know God himself created heaven and Earth. Once we know this, we cannot deny this.

As your kids learn of the Bible and study and memorize these verses, they will be true followers of the Savior and know that God is. Through this, they will draw closer to God and have a desire to always follow in his footsteps throughout their life, even on the most difficult of days that they will experience in their lives.

17. Psalm 103:8

“The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love. He does not deal with us according to our sins nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.”

We are human beings, and so, no matter how hard we try not to, we still sin. But did you know that God will forgive you if you repent for it and ask for his forgiveness?

His love for us is limitless. He is merciful, and he doesn’t get angry easily. Whenever we commit a sin, he waits for us to ask for his forgiveness. And if we do, he showers love on us.

He wants us to do good things in life, fear him, refrain from doing what is wrong, and walk on the path described in the Bible. And he will reserve a place for us in Heaven.

18. Matthew 22:37-39

And he said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

We should never cease to walk on the path that Jesus has shown us. We should always be thankful for whatever life we have on earth and love God like nothing else. We should dedicate our mind, body, and soul to the love of God, as he is the one we should be loyal to.

Then, the next person that you should love and take care of is yourself. Jesus has put great importance on your neighbors in the Bible. The way you love and treat yourself, you should love and treat your neighbors in the same way. God has told us to have a good relationship with our neighbors and treat them well.

19. Matthew 6:14-15

“If you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

Forgiveness has been given great importance in the Bible. Our heavenly father has asked us to be forgiving to everyone. Yes, others can hurt you or do things to you to make you suffer. But you must have a big heart and forgive them for all their wrongdoings.

If you do so, God will also forgive you for all the sins you have committed and pave a smooth way to your heavenly abode in your afterlife. But if you don’t forgive those people who have hurt you, God will also not forgive you for all your sins. The main lesson that the Almighty wants to teach us is to forgive and forget. And you will have a happier life.

20. Ephesians 6:1-3

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.”

Kids should always give their parents the highest place in their hearts after God. They should always listen to their fathers and mothers and never do things that they ask them not to. Teach your kids to obey you, as God loves kids who are compassionate, loving, and caring to their parents.
