These unique Family Feud questions should get you going! Family Feud has also spawned a number of popular board and card games, which I’ve listed at the bottom of this post!
Whether you’re familiar with the game show or not, you and your family are sure to enjoy answering these questions, too. Simply refer to the game rules below to learn how to play!

How to Play Family Feud at Home
The rules below have been adapted from the Family Feud Game Show and related card and board games. If you’re playing Family Feud without a board or card game, you can follow these.
Otherwise, it’s better to follow the instructions for the card or board game you’re playing. You can write up new cards for your game using the Family Feud questions in this post, though.
Usually, the answers to each question asked in the Family Feud are based on the top answers polled from a panel of 100 people. As such, the answers are survey answers, not factual!
However, for convenience’s sake, the questions listed below have been made up randomly! Feel free to adapt, reorder, or substitute these answers – or make up your own questions!
Game Rules:
Here are some basic Family Feud game rules. Feel free to adapt these to your game night!
Elect Your Host
First off, select a host out of all the players. The host will be responsible for reading out the game questions and keeping the score!
Top tip: Write out your survey questions on individual cards beforehand for the host to use during the game.
Split Into Teams
Next up, divide your remaining family and friends into two equally-sized teams.
Top tip: Being called Family Feud, ideally, families should get teamed off against each other in this game. You could also invite the neighbors to face off with your family, though!
Choose Players to Start
One member of each team must now be elected to answer the first question. The host must then read out the question, and the first team member to buzz in gets to answer.
Top tip: You can buy game buzzers to use for the night. Or, just have team members make a loud, funny, buzzing sound themselves!
Fight For Control!
The team member that buzzes in first gets one chance to answer the question. If the player’s answer is the number 1 most popular survey answer, their team wins control.
If not, the opposing team gets a chance to guess a correct or higher-ranking answer to win control. If they fail, the opposite team gets another chance, and so on.
Top tip: Each game round revolves around one game question. Additionally, each Family Feud question has multiple answers consisting of the top most popular survey answers.
Guess the Rest of the Answers to Win
Whichever team wins control now has to guess the rest of the answers on the card to win the round. Any answer that is on the card is acceptable, not just consecutive ones.
Top tip: During this section of the game, each team member must make a guess without consulting other players on their team.
Strike!
If a team member answers one question wrong while having control of the question, they get a strike. The team needs to guess all the answers correctly without getting three!
If the team does get three strikes before correctly guessing all the answers, control is passed onto the next team.
The opposing team then has to guess one answer correctly to win the round. If they guess correctly, they win; if not, the opposing team wins the round.
Top tip: Usually, a game of Family Feud consists of four rounds of questions. But, if there is a draw (or you just want to play more), you can extend the game with a few lightning rounds!
The Lightning Rounds!
For a lightning round, two opposing team members get selected to square off. One gets to stay with the host, while the other goes to another room.
The host will then ask them five survey questions, during which the player has 20 seconds to answer. Then, the opposing team’s player takes their turn to do the same.
Afterward, each player’s correct answers get scored based on how popular they are. These points get tallied up, and the player with the most points wins the round!
Top tip: You can allot points to each answer based on where it lands on the list. For example, the top-ranking survey answer can be worth 10 points, while the bottom ranking can be worth 1!
Who Wins?
The team with the most round wins during the game wins. The team who wins the most game rounds, plus lightning rounds, wins!
Top tip: Usually, a Family Feud game consists of four game rounds and 1-2 lightning rounds. However, you can play as many rounds as you like!
