Hawks Cay is set-up like a little community, with various villages around the property, each offering unique villa accommodations (plus there is the main resort building that also offers suites).
With a full kitchen open to the combined dining and living room space as well as a second floor with the two bedrooms and bathrooms, our villa felt more like staying at a cottage than at a resort. I mean that in a good, comfortable way.Having the two floors meant we didn’t feel like we were right on top of each other, which can be the case in many standard resort rooms.
Though you will probably be spending more time outside of your villa than inside, having a TV in both of the bedrooms as well as the living room was a nice feature. Everyone can enjoy his or her own television shows without breaking into a fight (there’s only so much Dora anyone parent can handle). The villas even come equipped with a stackable washer and dryer on the second floor, which come in handy washing swimsuits during our visit as well as getting a jump on post-vacation laundry.
My favourite feature was the large decks, four in total, especially the two back decks overlooking the marina. The upper deck, off of the master bedroom, offered a wonderful way to start the day, sitting outside first thing in the morning, though a privacy screen creating some separation between your deck and the neighbour’s deck would have been nice.
The kids enjoyed eating snacks on the back deck off of the living room space. Some of the Habour Villa’s come with a small plunge pool located on the back deck too. The sidwalks and boardwalk around the Hawks Cay made it easy to get about and walk to the many great pools available as well as all the dining options at the resort. Forget about hauling your luggage from a distant parking lot, you have your own driveway right outside the door. It really did feel like a home.
The Harbour Village is just one of the different villa complexes offered to guests but these particular villas are great if you have your own boat.
