For me a trip to Florida needs to include a nice dose of water or a resort with water park. For a state whose borders cover more coast than not, I want to hear, feel, and taste the water when visiting. With that said, you would think that Hyatt Regency Coconut Point in Bonita Springs, Florida wouldn’t be an ideal water infused destination since it’s not on the coast but you would be wrong. The resort does an amazing job incorporating water in various aspects of a guest’s visit, like these 4 ways:

Private Beach

Take the resort’s free ferry to its private beach on Big Hickory Island Beach. You’ll find umbrellas and lounge chairs waiting for you on the large stretch of sandy beach but no crowds. Soak up the sun to the sound of lapping waves while the kids splash in the warm water, build sand castles or collect shells.

Expanded Water Park

Coconut Point as a resort with water park always had a number of pools to offer guests not interested in the beach scene, including a zero entry family activity pool with a kids water slide. Now you can enjoy more water adventure with the addition of two taller and faster side-by-side corkscrew body slides as well as a tube slide that feeds into a lazy river (one of the MUST DO activities when visiting the resort).

Water Features

The resort’s use of water features such as fountains and waterfalls provides a nice backdrop to playing outdoor games, enjoy one of the conversation corners or savoring a meal outside. These features also have a functional purpose, providing white noise around the property and creating separation to the many outdoor living and playing spaces.

Watsu Water Shiatsu Experience

The Stillwater spa is a great escape for mom. Treatments include the use of the lounge, sauna, and steam room as well as the warmed co-ed Watsu pool. You can also book a Water Shiatsu experience within this nutrient mineral rich pool for a truly unique water experience, one listed in USA Today’s 10 Best.

The Hyatt Regency Coconut Point reaffirmed that you don’t have to be on the coast to experience a true family coast getaway. Instead guests can enjoy all the things they love about a coastal resort without the coastal crowds.
