{jcomments on}One of the nice features of the Beaches Resorts is their program It’s a Caribbean Adventure with Sesame Street, where kids get to meet and interact with Elmo, Zoe and friends right at the resort. It was certainly one of the elements my 3-year old was excited to experience when the Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort and Spa invited us down for a visit.
It’s a Caribbean Adventure with Sesame Street enables kids to meet and eat with their favourite Sesame Street characters at breakfast, do activities at Camp Sesame, see the characters in their night time show and just catch them walking around the resort.
If you’re looking for a more intimate experience, then you might be interested in the new Night Night Sleep Tight tuck-in service now being offered at Beaches Resorts. This service enables you to book your child’s favourite character from the resort (based on availability) to come to your room for a wonderful good night ritural.
The folks at Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort and Spa arranged to have Zoe, my daughter’s favourite character, visit our room just as my 3-year old was getting ready for bed.
When Zoe arrived, with a handler and a photograher, my daugher stared at Zoe in disbelief. Zoe gave my daughter a big hug and presented her with a mini Zoe doll in the form of a hand puppet.
The handler led Zoe and my daughter into the parent’s sleep area. I was given the choice to have the night time visit happen in the kids space but thought the parent’s space would offer more room; Zoe in real life is pretty big.
First they started with some bedtime stretches, the handler, Zoe and my daughter. Like most costume characters, Zoe doesn’t talk that’s why the handler is there, dressed in her Elmo PJs.
After some quiet stretches the three of them get comfy on the bed and read s story together. Zoe and the handler did a great job interacting with my daughter, though I think my daughter was a little overwhelmed by the size of Zoe.
Once the story was done we sang a song together and by we I mean I was invited to sing along too. The photographer took pictures through the whole event and then he took some nice posed shots at the end. Then it was time to say good bye and good night to Zoe.
My daughter loved her time with Zoe; she still talks about it even now when we’re back at home. If you’re unsure how your child will react to the life sized character, my daughter was a little nervous, you might want to schedule a Night Night visit after your kids have had some exposure to the characters in the resort. This will make them more comfortable and the evening more enjoyable for everyone.
You can see a video of my daughter’s Night Night visit with Zoe. The video is a little dark as it is nighttime and we were getting ready for bed.
Seeing the characters at the resort is great fun but it can be rushed due to all the other kids wanting to see the same characters. The Night Night Sleep Tight is a great way for your child to get some quiet one-on-one time with their favourite character. The whole experience was quiet and relaxed and incredible all at the same time.
A session for a family with one child (newborn to 15 years old) and one character is $125 US. If you have a family with siblings, each additional child is $30 US. Families can also choose to add a second character for another $100 US, maximum two Sesame Street characters per experience. You will also get a stuffed toy (like the Zoe puppet my daughter received) and a 5×7 photo that you can choose from the images the photographer took.
I loved this image of the 3 of them on the bed and of course I had to get one of the shots with my daughter and Zoe together. Who would believe I spent time with Zoe.

The Night Night Sleep Tight experience was my daughter’s favourite and I would gladly do it again if we were to visit the Beaches Resorts.
Thanks to the folks at Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort and Spa and Coastal International for making the trip possible.
It is fun to give the kids the type of travel treat.
