Disney is all about the experience, from the moment you start planning your trip to the last hug you give Mickey in the theme park. Most of that experience is because of the people but there are a few new technology developments at Walt Disney World that will add to your magical experience.

Free My Disney Experience App

The new MyMagic+ service enables you to plan and organize your entire Walt Disney World vacation but the free My Disney Experience app enables you to access your plan and more when at the park.

From retrieving your dining reservations and your scheduled FastPass+ times to locating the nearest PhotoPass spot and showtimes for fireworks and parades, you can access it all with a touch of your finger. The My Disney Experience app uses GPS technology enabling you to find your way around the park without the use of the larger paper maps. You can even find out the wait times for your favourite rides to help you plan the best way to spend your time in the park.

Free Theme Park and Disney Resort Hotel WIFI

Using the My Disney Experience app is even better with free WIFI offered throughout the theme parks and resort hotels. Plus you can now share your #DisneySide moments with those at home by sharing photos and experiences through your social media channels. The free WIFI makes it easier for families to stay in touch inside the park too, as you divide and conquer the rides with various family members, Dumbo for you and your youngest while dad takes the big kids to Space Mountain.

The MagicBand is the Key to unlocking the magic of a Walt Disney World vacation, connecting guests to all the choices they make online at MyDisneyExperience.com  With the new MagicBand from Disney you get all of this in one place. These colourful waterproof wristbands are your access to everything Disney. You can:

–       Unlock the door of your Walt Disney Resort Hotel Room.

–       Enter theme and water parks (once you have linked your tickets).

–       Check in at FastPass+ entrances.

–       Connect Disney PhotoPass images to your account.

–       Charge food and merchandise purchases to your Walt Disney Resort Hotel Room (only available during your hotel stay).

–       Check in to Walt Disney World’s Magical Express

All you have to do is scan your wristband. How cool is that? If you are staying at a Disney Resort your MagicBand will be sent to you if you live in the United States. Canadian residents and other international guests will receive their MagicBands at the front desk of their Disney Resort when they check-in.

You can even customize your MagicBand with a colour choice and your name (which is printed on the inside of your band for privacy). Customize your MagicBand 5 days prior to your vacation it will be sent to your Disney resort. Even guests staying off property can also enjoy most of the same features of the MagicBands (with the exception of room access) with their Magic Card.

Just like our list of free and inexpensive Disney souvenirs your MagicBand or Card makes a great souvenir from your Disney vacation. Plus if you plan another trip back you can reuse your bands should they still be in working order.

Day guests who are not staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel can purchase a MagicBand at any of the Walt World Disney theme parks or Downtown Disney in order to enjoy the many benefits the bands offer. Just link it to your MyMagic+ account to ensure all your data is retrieved.

Free WIFI, the My Disney Experience app, and MagicBands are just a few of the ways Disney is working to add a little more magic to your next Disney vacation.
