The snow and ice world of Walt Disney Studio’s animated film “Frozen” might be imaginary but now fans can experience the magic in person in Quebec City’s Hôtel de Glace (Ice Hotel).
Located 10-minutes from downtown Quebec City, the “Ice-Hotel” is created entirely out of ice and snow. Each year the hotel is redesigned and built with a new theme in mind. This year the focus is on Myths and Legends from Around the World. Walt Disney Studio’s beloved animated film “Frozen” based on Hans Christian Andersen’s classic winter myth “The Snow Queen,”, will be featured within the hotel thanks to a partnership between Walt Disney Studios and the Hôtel de Glace.
Guests will be able to enter the world of Frozen through a “Frozen Suite” modeled after the characters Anna and Elsa’s bedrooms in the film. Design will be supervised by the film’s art director Michael Giaimo. Guests can also visit the “Frozen Activity Cave” for some fun family activites also inspired by the film’s characters and themes.
The Hôtel Glace, as well as the Frozen-themed suite and activity cave, opens in January and runs until March 23rd, 2014. The 2014 Golden Globe® Award winner and Academy Award® nominee for Best Animated Feature Film “Frozen” will be available on Digital HD & 3D February 25 and Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD & On-Demand March 18
