Whether your planned trip to Disney World marks your fifth visit or your first, this summer has a lot of new fun in store. From dwarfs and Elsa to dragons and partying around the clock, here are 6 of our must-see picks in Magic Kingdom this summer.

Journey into New Fantasyland. Beyond Cinderella Castle you’ll discover the enchanted lands of some of your favourite Disney stories. In the newly expanded Fantasyland you can dine with the Beast in his castle; visit Arial in an undersea adventure; and fly with Dumbo high in the sky. Nothing beats entering a world that only existed in books and movies. It’s pure magic!

Search for Pirate Treasure.

From my youngest to my oldest, pirates have always been popular in our family with Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean being one of our favourite family rides. The new Pirate’s Adventure – Treasures of the Seven Seas immerses you in a pirate treasure hunt experience with maps, interactivity, and secret surprises. Why stop at just one when there are five different treasure-hunting experiences to enjoy?

Adventure with the Seven Dwarfs. The new Seven Dwarfs Mine Train promises a family-style roller coaster with the Dwarfs down in the gem-filled mine. I’m especially excited because each car is designed to pivot, rocking back and forth like an actual mine car, adding to the ride experience.

Walk with Dragons.

The parades in Disney World are spectacular, full of imaginative costumes, colourful floats and of course always a few of your favourite Disney characters. The new Disney Festival of Fantasy parade promises to deliver all of that with a fire breathing dragon and cannon firing pirate ship tossed in for good measure.

Meet Elsa and Anna

. From the movie screen to right in front of your eyes, Elsa and Anna join the Princess Fairytale Hall. Kids (and parents) will love meeting these two new Disney princesses along with classic favourites. Be sure you are in the picture too by using Disney’s PhotoPass and Memory Maker services.

Celebrate for 24 Hours Straight.

To kick off summer Disney is inviting guests to ‘Rock Your Disney Side 24-Hours’ from May 23 to May 24, 2014. Imagine watching the sunrise as you ride the turns of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad or take a trip on Space Mountain at midnight? Can you say bucket list? Plus there will be a host of other surprise additions and special events throughout the 24-hours.

Travel Tip: Popular rides lead to longer lines. With your pre-paid Disney World theme park passes you are able to enjoy Disney’s new FastPass+ service. Schedule your fastpass rides ahead of time ensuring you spend more time enjoying the park and less standing in lines. Learn more about Disney’s FastPass+.

  1. FastPasses are our favorite way to get the most out of our trips! During the summer, you really don’t want to be waiting in line for long periods of time, so we make sure to make the most of our fastpasses.
