Sweaters and jackets. Thick wooly socks and big clomping boots. The layers protect against the frigid cold but they also weigh me down. Checking out the new spring and summer collection from TOMS added a much-needed bit of inspiration for warmer days.
TOMS offers such a great variety of shoes. I always think of them for their canvas slip on shoes but I’ve fallen in love with their summer wedges. If you’re looking for some flirty flats try their Bella Espadrille, slingbacks with large straps that can be tied anyway you wish. The Huarache sandals are inspired by traditional Mexican shoes and are even hand-woven in Mexico. All you need is a little sock-free weather.
No surprise TOMS has a great collection of kids wear. Sweet baby janes, sandals, and hightops in easy no-tie designs in fun patterns and colours. Their ballet flats and sandals will appeal to those older fashionistas.
I especially love the wedges, a nice step up for the tween looking to get into a funky heel. I wish they had these when I was a kid, trying to look grown-up.
TOMS’ One for One program means that for every pair of shoes you buy, adult or child, they will donate a pair to a child in need. The type of shoes donated depends on the area’s need.
Most people know TOMS for their shoes but they also have eyewear. Our Junior Style Blogger talked about their sunglasses in the past. I am especially excited about their prescription frames being someone who has warn glasses all my life. After my surfer’s eye diagnosis I’m thinking of trying a pair of TOMS for a pair of prescription sunglasses. Like TOMS shoes, their eyewear also falls under the One for One charity program with the company donating eye sight in the form of surgery or prescription eyewear. Maybe two pairs of glasses are in order.
From sunglasses to sandals I can’t wait the end of winter and less layers.
