Ah Friday, the end of a busy school and workweek and a time to enjoy an evening together. It’s no wonder some families enjoy a Pizza Friday ritual. This Friday, which happens to also be Valentine’s Day, celebrate with your heart and help kids.
February 14 marks the 22nd year Boston Pizza has been celebrating Valentine’s Day with heart-shaped pizzas. Our kids love the heart shape, eating a special pizza on Valentine’s Day. I love that one dollar from each heart-shaped pizza sale goes to supporting the Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects, a program committed to exposing kids to positive role modeling and mentoring programs.
Charities such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Kids Help Phone, Life Different and JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) have benefited from the donation of more than $4.6 million in the past.
Celebrating Valentine’s Day with the kids with a Boston heart-shaped pizza not only brings a fun treat into your home but it will benefit so many other kids. Guests can also purchase a Boston Pizza scratch card for a minimum donation of $2 where guests will have a 1-in-4 chance of winning a free Panookie, a free Starbucks coffee or $2 off a dessert. The heart-shaped pizzas can be ordered in the restaurant, as take-out or even delivery. I think I know what we’ll be having for dinner tonight.
