Take advantage of the bounty of apples this time of year and whip up a batch of these tasty pancakes. The other night I tried peeling, coring, and slicing up four apples, then sauteing them in a few tablespoons of butter. When the apples were soft, I added a few heaping tablespoons of brown sugar, which melted into a buttery, caramel-like sauce. Let it bubble just a bit, watching carefully. Spooned over the pancakes, it was an amazing treat that completely eliminated the need for syrup!
