Free Meal Plan: Ham and Cheese French Toast Sandwiches

Sharing is Caring!

Spring is here, which means farmer’s markets are heating up! Visit one to pick up some early spring peas, rhubarb, strawberries, radishes, and green onions. You’ll be able to use them in this week’s menu plan, which includes some fantastic Easter Menus, ideas of what to do with that leftover ham, and other great kid friendly options. Jamie Oliver’s Food revolution 2 also starts this week and I’ve added the stir fry recipe that he taught everyone last year in Huntington! If you eat vegetarian, don’t worry-there’s a great burger recipe in there for you, which I can’t wait to try. Your kids will be enjoying their veggies in NO time!

MONDAY

Free Meal Plan: Chicken Chow MeinJamie Oliver‘s Food Revolution Los Angeles airs Tuesday, April 12 and looks like it’s going to be a great show! We’re having a bit of a party that day, with my teenager and I cooking up some of our favorite recipes from Jamie’s Food Revolution cookbook. Make sure to drop by Twitter on Wednesday April 13 at 7 pm with the hashtag #foodrevparty, when I team up with @jamieoliver and @foodrevteam to host a Twitter party! In the meantime, try out this great recipe for Chicken chow mein that I posted over on Chasing Tomatoes. It’s super easy, and I love how you can swap out the veggies for ones your kids would eat. Little people love noodles, so this will be a hit. Plus it’s far less salty than regular Chinese take out.

WEDNESDAY

Free Meal Plan: Ultimate Veggie BurgersA friend of mine were having coffee Friday and she pulled out Heidi Swanson’s new book, Super Natural Everyday. I’m not ashamed to say that I drooled all over the pages because the photography is beautiful, and the recipes sound amazing. We go vegetarian about 2-3 days a week in our house, and not only does it cut costs in the grocery bill but we just love the food! A good way to start is with veggie burgers-home made means less salt and fillers, which is better for you! Hop on over to 101 Cookbooks and take a look.

THURSDAY

Free Meal Plan: Moroccan Chicken with Carrot PureeI’m seeing more and more purees these days-on Food Network, in magazines, and over at Love and Olive Oil. This dish looks so delicious, and I think a puree might be a great way to get kids to eat more veggies! Or at least, picky husbands like mine.
