I know the story of Cinderella and Snow White and other stories from fairy tales from when I was really little. Then I heard about Ever After High, a world based on those familiar fairy tale characters but it deals with their daughters and sons in their teen years. Fairy tales may have become a little cooler and something I can relate to.

Within Ever After High there are two groups in the school, Royals and Rebels. The Royals, like Snow White’s daughter Apple White, are people who want to follow their destiny and live their happily ever after. The Rebels, like the Evil Queen’s daughter Raven Queen, are people who want to change destiny but they still want their own happily ever after.

On the site www.everafterhigh.com you can create your own happily ever after by choosing your character (Royal or Rebel) and building your space. Once you enrol (it’s free) you complete tasks to earn coins to buy new outfits and accessories to decorate your dorm room. Some tasks include watching clips from the Ever After High series and playing online games. Right now the games are a little limited but I’m hoping they’ll add to them in the future.

I have always thought fairy tales were for little kids like my younger sister. I like how Ever After High tries to bring realness to pretend characters, such as fitting in and friendship. It is based on fairy tales so there are a lot of stereotypes for princesses and beauty but they do add some fun humour.
