The warmer weather and longer days of sunshine are a welcoming change from the dark, dreary days of winter. But my favourite part about spring is the colour. I’m not talking about the buds on the trees and the blooms poking through the ground; I’m talking clothes. Here are some of our favourite colourful ways to welcome spring.
Spring Colour: Short Sleeve Scroll-Printed Shirt w/Beads
If you love colour but feel maybe going solid is too much, checkout this scroll-print pattern short shirt from Mark’s, ideal for warm days or for wearing under a jacket. I’m not one for tucking in casual shirts and this top hangs perfectly down to your hips. The pleating and beads on the front of the shirt along with the button front take this up a level from being too casual. Available in stores soon.
Spring Colour: Valentine K Pullover
From cardigans, pullovers and hoodies, the Spring collection from Valentine K is full of colour. I love the mix of the soft cashmere sweaters paired with hand picked leather and suedes on the elbows. My favourite is The Best Friend peach pullover sweater with ocean blue striped suede up the arm, a cozy beach house feel. $320 Cdn
Spring Colour: ela MILCK Clutch
Spring just has this sense of lightness to it. No more bulk. That goes for your bags too. The funky look of the asymmetrical envelope MILCK Clutch from ela Handbags is only surpassed by its fabulous colours, like lime, peach, and cobalt blue suede. Even the inside is fun with its vibrant purple lining. I’m a big fan of the orange, a perfect summer citrus shade. The clutch is for your essentials, as the name implies (Money, Identification, Lipstick, Cell, Keys) and I love that these handbags are crafted locally in Canada too. $295 Cdn
Spring Colour: Vintage Earring Bracelet
While you’re showing off your new spring nail colour, be sure to have some dazzling jewelry on your wrist too. Spring means a new beginning, a rebirth. Everything is fresh again, even vintage. I love the look of vintage jewelry and this pink hued-bracelet of vintage earrings from designer Hannah Harris is beautiful. From Made You Look. $55.00 Cdn
Spring Colour: Banana Republic Rolled-Hem Crop
The weather may not be warm enough for shorts or capris but these cropped pants from Banana Republic are perfect. The rolled cuff give them a fun casual look and will go perfectly with those new wedges. The small flat pockets in the front and back keep these pants looking streamlined and simple. You can get them in white or sunwashed taupe but for fun colour I would stick with sun blazed. $85.00 Cdn
Spring Colour: Blanca Quad Comfort Wedges
Spring is the perfect time to show off a little colour on your toes. The Blanca black and brown wedges from Mark’s offer a perfect peek to your colourful polish. I love the cork-like base to these shoes too, giving a very earthy, natural feel, perfect for spring. The blended rubber outsole really does grip and as part of the Quad Comfort design you know you’re going to get the padding you need. Now to schedule that pedicure, maybe at Lux-Spa? $69.99 Cdn
Spring Colour: Advance Techniques Professional Hair Colour
Spring colour doesn’t have to just stop at your wardrobe, it can mean adding a splash of colour to you too. The Advance Techniques Professional Hair Colour line from Avon lets you go a little blonder or redder, or switch things up by going black or brunette, right in your own home. The tree-step treatment primes, colours, and treats your hair giving you colour that lasts. $10.99 Cdn
