Video gameplay is often portrayed as a solitary activity, something your son is doing in his room whenever he’s not around but that is simply a stereotype. There are many games that are inclusive and Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition is one that brings video game fun back into the family room for the whole family to enjoy.
Whether you’re a gaming family or not, Disney Infinity 3.0 has a lot of features you’ll love, like family-friendly game play, playing as some of your favourite Disney characters, and the ability to unleash your creativity. To be upfront, we have been fans of the game since the beginning, adding some super hero fun when Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel Super Heroes was released. Now, Disney takes to the stars with Disney Infinity 3.0.
Want to know what we love about the newest version of this popular family game?
Yup, you guessed it. If you have any Star Wars fans in your family, the new Disney Infinity 3.0 should definitely be on your gaming list.
Darth Vadar or Han Solo. You will find some of your favourite characters available to play and you can choose to join either the Rebel or the Dark side depending on your mood. The character figures themselves are great play pieces that you just might find the kids using outside of the game too.
Explore Different Worlds. Battle droids hiding among the Clone Troopers on Geonosis, take down the AT-AT’s on the Planet Hoth, or take to space for epic in air battles.
Use the Force. Game play incorporates the moves and tools of your favourite characters. I love wielding that lightsaber around as Ahsoka or moving items (and droids) using the force. Plus you get to fly in the Millennium Falcon and fight TIE Fighters. How cool!
More to Come. The great thing about Disney Infinity 3.0 is the expandability. New Play Sets are being added, as well as new characters to bring into the worlds you own, leading to expanded worlds and play experiences. On our list? The new The Force Awakens Play Set, which hits stores everywhere on December 18th.
Darth Maul Meet Olaf. Disney Infinity’s philosophy is to let you play with your favourite characters in their worlds but when you want to mix it up, enter the creative world of Toy Box. Here you can mix characters from any Play Set and build a world of your imagination. As you complete levels in your Play Sets, you earn new items, characters, costumes for your Toy Box. My kids have figured out how to use the tools very easily.
Customize Your Death Star. I think the Toy Box has to be a favourite element of Disney Infinity 3.0, from customizing your own level and downloading fabulous user created levels. The best feature with this latest release has to be the interior design. My kids have created a mansion with rooms fashioned after the Death Star and Disney’s Haunted Mansion. They create, change, and play in these worlds.
Try A Little Kart Racing. Another great feature introduced with Disney Infinity 3.0 is the Toy Box Expansion Games, like the Toy Box Speedway. Now you can race your favourite characters in custom vehicles around preset tracks. How about using a landspeeder through Wreck It Ralph’s Sugar Rush backdrop? And since Disney Infinity 3.0 is forward compatible, you can also use your characters from 1.0 and 2.0 systems. This is definitely on our family wish list to add to our collection.
Exploring Your Emotions. After exploring the galaxy, why not jump into your brain to explore your emotions in the Inside Out Play Set. This Play Set is fun and colourful and a nice switch from saving the world.
Disney Infinity On the Go. Like previous versions of the game, you can also take your Disney Infinity 3.0 characters on the go in the app version, something we talked about in our Disney Road Trip video. Now Yoda and Joy can join you anywhere.
Ultimately, Disney Infinity 3.0 lets you jump into the world of Star Wars that the whole family can enjoy. From gameplay on your gaming console and on-the-go, to getting creative and playing your own way in the Toy Box, Disney Infinity 3.0 is definitely a family pick for the holidays.
