For some, Saturday morning means heading to their local arena to hockey practice. We are not one of those families. Although we do not play hockey, seeing a game live can be amazing and my son had a first hockey game treat recently.
Last month my husband and son were suppose to attend the Pinty’s 250 Nascar Canadian Tire Series race but Mother Nature had other plans. I think the folks at Canadian Tire felt badly so they offered us a pair of tickets to the Toronto Maples Leaf’s hockey game. Not just any game but the home season opener. Not just any seats but a sky view in a private gondola box.
For any hockey fan this would be heaven My son was excited because this was his first live hockety game. And what a game. From the comfort of a private box with snacks and drinks to being able to take in the whole ice and crowd scene from above, my son enjoyed every minite. They stayed to the nail biting end with the sudden death shoot-out in overtime.
I’m not sure my son will ever be able to see another live game after that experience thanks to Canadian Tire. It will be hard to top.
Seeing a hockey game live can be a treat but for those kids that play, getting out on the ice ca be just as much fun.
