Synopsis from Thomas Allen & Son:
These Seas Count! explores the environmental impact and importance of the seas, and how crucial it is to keep them healthy. Alison Formento’s gentle story and Sarah Snow’s amazing collages combine for a powerful message about the environment and what we can do to preserve our oceans.
We all know the importance of taking care of our environment and educating our kids about this cause when they are young will help them become invested in the future of the world around them. This sounds like a daunting task but These Seas Count! uses familiar counting concepts to illustrate the importance of keeping our waters clean.
The kids in Mr. Tate’s class are participating in Beach Clean-Up Day. On the shores they discover the varied creatures that live in the sea as well as the importance for keeping it tidy (for people and animals). These Seas Count! is a great book about taking simple steps on cleaning our environment and it is a perfect read as we get ready for beach and sea side holidays.
