Synopsis from Raincoast Books:

Open this elegant pop-up book and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas! Lyrical words describe how the Star of Bethlehem lit the sky over the first Christmas, and how it shines still today: as families gather, as gifts are given, as we celebrate our love for one another, and as we wish for peace and joy for the world. The beautiful diorama-style format invites the reader to follow the star that shines every year during this special season, all over the world, in our homes and hearts.

Books about Christmas tend to focus on the religious aspect or the secular side. Follow the Star does a wonderful job connecting the two. The Star the lead travellers to Jesus’s birth place still hangs in the sky as a reminder to all of the true meaning of Christmas: love. The wonderfully crafted pop-ups are beautiful to look at and the words simple but full of so much meaning.

The pop-ups are delicate so Follow the Star is probably more of a book you would sit and enjoy together, a holiday tradition, versus something that would sit on your child’s book shelf.

You can add Follow the Star to your personal library by visiting your local book store or visiting Raincoast Books. Visit our Kid’s Books section for other great book recommendations. What are you reading with your kids?

I have to thank Crystal at Raincoast Books for my review copy.
