Gingerbread Houses
We can’t forget about gingerbread houses when it comes to Christmas Craft ideas for kids. Kids of all ages love creating and eating their creations.
Supplies Needed:
- Gingerbread house / Graham crackers
- Frosting
- Candy
First, you will want to prep your gingerbread making area with newspaper or a table cloth because Gingerbread house making can get a little messy.
Next, cover a piece of sturdy cardboard with foil.
Now it is time to start building your gingerbread house. Start by adding frosting to the bottom of the house where it attaches to the foil. Be generous with the frosting in order to get it to stand up. Do the same when attaching the sides together.
For younger children, I highly recommend using graham crackers. They are not nearly as heavy and they are easier to keep together.
Once your house is standing, I like to let it sit for a few minutes to dry.
Next, begin adding candy and decorating the house as well as the foil to create a beautiful landscaped yard.
After your gingerbread house is complete, you can admire it for a day or two or start eating the goodies. It is really up to you!
