What is Kidical Mass?
Think kids, fresh air, fun and a great introduction to a life on a bike. Think families getting out their cycles and converging on the city as a group, riding together to put the spotlight on kids and bikes. Think of a clever, peaceful way to share a message that biking as a family is just good fun.
We know that cycling is great for the environment and our health, but what’s the best way to show our kids that it’s a lifestyle we have embraced? By getting out there and biking with them. Take to the streets, give the little ones a chance to show their stuff and you’ll see a love for biking grow. And what better way is there to enjoy it than as a group, showing all of Saskatoon how easy it really is to bike as a family. It’s a great way to learn how to bike together safely, and to meet other people who are into biking or curious about biking as a family.

Meet the Kidical Mass group at the Mendel Art Gallery at 11:00 am. You’ll have no trouble spotting them! At 11:30, everyone will ride en masse to the farmer’s market, arriving in time to join the Saskatoon Cycles, Suncycle Cycling Festival, which begins at noon! Check it out at Sun Cycle Cyling Festival.
And don’t forget: the June Kidical Mass Bike Ride has a theme: decorate your bike! What kid doesn’t love to add a little flash to their ride? You think your kids love biking now? Just wait until they’re encouraged to add their own style. Supplies will be available, but feel free to bring your own to add to the group!
The last Saskatoon Kidical Mass Bike Ride had over 70 riders! They’re looking to beat that this time – can they top 100 riders? Show up, be counted and find out!
