I was always a Bret fan as a teenage girl. The Apprentice experience showed him in a really great light. It's nice to see the softer side of him.
Blissdom was fun! It was so great to see so many dressed up in costumes.
The latest from our Heart and Soul
So I knew that “Every Rose has itʼs Thorn” and how to “Talk Dirty to Me”, but when it came to Bret Michaels that was about all I knew. I am a child of the 80ʼs but was never a Poison fan. To be honest when I starting writing this post I had to ask my husband what band he was in just to be sure.
He is the “Glam Metal” aficionado in the house, when I think “Glam Metal” I think more platinum than poison.
The only Bret Michaels I really knew off was the guy from the cheesy, dirty reality dating show, Rock Of Love. Where 20 “women” using this word so loosely that it may actually fall out of the article, all vie for Michaelʼs affection. Very similar to the bachelor only with way more pleather and hairspray. What I didnʼt know was that this show actually ran for 3 seasons. Someone actually made this horrific mistake, 3 times. I never watched the show, I was never a big fan of Wild Kingdom, too many cougars.
It wasnʼt until Bret (we are on a first name basis) showed up on a season of Celebrity Apprentice that I actually had a chance to figure out who he was, or at least who he wanted us to think he was. As the show started I thought he was going to be a buffoon and be gone faster than his groupies panties. To my surprise he is quite intelligent and won the whole damn thing. He played the good guy “dad” card a little too much for my liking, it would of been nice to see some “Glam Rock Diva” . All in all he came across as a quasi norma dude with more than just make up tips to offer.
His health scare nudged him even further into the spotlight, garnering a whole new crop of Michaelʼs fans. Hoards of leopard print clad groupies held candle light vigils to wish him a speedy recovery. So with this new found appreciation for life, Bret Michaels has traded in his Rock of Love Bus for a minivan. Gone back with long time girlfriend Kristi Lynn Gibson and now has a new reality show on VH1 called, Bret Michaels, Life As We Know It. Where he wants to show the viewers what kind of dad he is to his daughters Jorja and Raine, and how he handles the Rock Star/Life balance. Once again, not making the cut into my viewing rotation.
So why my sudden interest in the Poison front man? I was him for a night, well sort of, he was my Halloween costume for a party at the Blissdom Canada Conference. I walked into a room of over a 100 women dressed as the Rock Star and quickly realized that WOMEN FREAKIN LOVE HIM ! I couldnʼt even make it into the party, I was hugged and pinched and posing for pics like...well a Rock Star. When we took Bret Michaels out on the streets of Toronto he got looks , stares, pointing fingers and accosted in a pizza joint. Quite frankly, it was crazy fun, I felt going back and trashing my hotel room. There is something to that whole thing about living life as a Rock Star. That was the night I slept with Bret Michaels. I think there will forever be a little Bret Michaels left inside me....So I am off to the Free Clinic.
Cheers
