The Emmy's: Oh Pick Me...Pick Me...

“And the Emmy Goes to”...the 62nd Annual Emmyʼs will air live, Sunday August 29th at 8pm on NBC. AND I CAN NOT WAIT!

emmeys-popcultureI love award shows, always have and always will. Although I have been mostly disappointed by this years shows. I think we need more Kanye and Madonna kissing a girl moments to spice things up. I tried to find some really cool outrageous Emmy moments to chat about, but the last one mentioned was by Kirstie Alley in 1992, and was dull.

This year however, I shall sit on the edge of my seat, in full makeup, a matching bra and panty set and HAWT shoes (ok the bra & panty set will be under some clothing). Why you ask? and even if you donʼt...Because my man George Clooney will be there, live and in all his HD techno colour to accept the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award. I wonder if he will thank me in his speech? Be sure to tune in and see.

You will also want to tune in to see who takes home the hardware. Jimmy Fallen is the host this year, I enjoy him, I just wish I could stay up to actually watch him. I have some predictions on who will leave with the sharp pointy trophy. If you care to know, then read on.

Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series - I say, Matthew Morrison a.k.a. Will Schuester- Glee. Just because I REALLY like that show.

Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series - Lea Michele, as Rachel Berry - Glee, once again because I REALLY like that show.

Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series - Michael C. Hall, as Dexter Morgan - Dexter. I donʼt watch the show but apparently it is fabulous and he is amazing in it. I would love to see Hugh Laurie, as Dr. Gregory House win , because I love the show and for some strange reason find him really Hawt.

Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series - Mariska Hargitay, as Det. Olivia Benson - Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, because I have a girl crush on her.

Outstanding Comedy Series - GLEE, because, yes...I REALLY like that show. Also if The Office wins again I may hurl one of my fabulous shoes at the television.

Outstanding Drama Series - Mad Men, because they serve fabulous retro cocktails on the show and there is lots of 1950ʼs style sex scenes. Oh and most importantly, there are no FU%$#NG Vampires in it!!!

So who are your faves? Do you even watch? Are you an award show hater?

To check out all the other nominees go to the Emmyʼs Web Site and if you tweet, be sure to follow them on Twitter.

emmey-cocktailI would like to thank all the little people...Martini...

2 oz. Pear Vodka
1 oz Sour Apple Mix (Roseʼs make a good one)
2 oz White Grape Juice
Fresh pear for garnish
Add all ingredients to shaker and shake well with ice. Pour over ice into a martini glass and serve.
