You are jealous.
The latest from our Heart and Soul
So we all know the saying “too much too soon”, I believe this to be true now days more than ever. There is no place where this saying is more true than in the strange world that is Hollywood. From 2-year olds running around in $200 shoes to 16-year olds driving Hundred thousand dollar cars, excess is oozing from every tiny ipod.
Back it June Suri Cruise made National News when she pulled her iPad out at a restaurant. If thatʼs not enough she pulled it out of an $850.00 purse.
Did I mention that she just turned four! We know that her parents have bag loads of money, this is not a secret. The question is...Just because you have the money, should you allow your children such an extravagant lifestyle? What are you teaching your kids about the value of a dollar and saving for a rainy day? I guess if you have someone to carry the umbrella for you, you donʼt have to worry about a rainy day. Or am I just bitter and jealous that a 4-year old has a better shoe collection than I do?
Another fine example is that fun “Little” shopping spree Zahara and Shiloh enjoyed with daddy Brad Pitt. The two girls shopped till they dropped spending a reported $10 000 is less than an hour. Also reported was a $250 hair cut and a $15 000 doll collection. Letʼs see, I am no mathematician ...but the grand total seems to be, enough to buy clean water for 252 1/2 families in need according to World Vision. Oh and I just simply canʼt forget Paxʼs $600 Karl Largerfeld leather jacket, that should be good for a few goats.
Now onto my favourite tidbit about Justin Bieber, anyone who knows me knows I am his biggest fan. You would also know I hate shoes and never drink. It made head line news earlier this year when P Diddy gave JB a Lamborghini Gallardo for his 16th birthday. Price tag? Approximately $200 000. Why stop at one? A young man needs choice! So then the mighty Bieber Fever was spotted cruising in a Ferrari F430, again...another $200 000. It was a good thing someone spotted him, because he could barely see over the steering wheel.
Do you spoil your kids? With stuff, not love...I can honestly say I donʼt. Just ask my children and they will tell you. My 12 year old son has a Game Cube circa 2002, my daughter bought and pays for her own phone. No television, phones or computers in their rooms. I refuse to spend $125 on a sweat shirt or try and keep up with the “latest & greatest” anything. And you know what? Some how, magically...they manage to survive.
