I Need My Fix: Celebrity Gossip

So who is your pusher? Where do you get your fix? When and how often? I get mine from a lot of different dealers, I find some have better stuff than others and I prefer it first thing in the morning. Although I take a hit now and then through out the day. You do however have to be wary of the dirt peddlers, their stuff is usually all cut with lies, hear say, half truths and D-listers. What is this narcotic I speak of? Why my celebrity gossip fix of course, all purely medicinal.

My daily gossip fix and morning coffee go hand in hand, they are treats and are just for me. With 4 kids, a husband and a dog, I do not have many things that are just for me, so this is MINE, all MINE!

I used to look forward to my after dinner reprieve at 7pm, to sit and watch Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood and Extra. However I now find these shows simply regurgitate each others stories, and the hosts get on my last nerve.

Now I get my fix delivered to my inbox every morning by my good friend, the world wide web. Some of the sites that feed my hunger for cheap meaningless celebrity gossip are, People Magazine and Us Magazine, they always have great pics. Lainey Gossip, love her no BS attitude and off the cuff writing style, and she covers all the fabulous events. Just Jarred also has some great stuff, the site covers more than just Celebs, fun fashion and news bits.

One of my fave sites over all is a home grown talent, Divine.ca. They have a fantastic Gossip & News section along with an entire web site dedicated to women. I had an opportunity to talk with Maya Meyouhas, the editor-in-chief of Divine.ca and asked her some questions about what she does and how she gets her FIX. I was curious on where she gets her inspiration for the content on her site, turns out it is quite simple. If they are interested in it, they write about it, I like that, especially since my interests usually fill a cocktail napkin.

She also told me they only run stories that are fact checked, no rumors or secret source junk. Of course I had to ask her who her favourite celebrities were, I think the answer to this question says a lot about people. She scored high marks with me for her choices of Christian Bale and Halle Berry and I will look past her third choice of Angelina Jolie because we had such a fun chat. Her philosophy on Divine.ca is that if a reader finds one new thing when they visit, this makes her happy. I did just that the day we chatted, they have a new testing panel for readers that is fabulous. They also have a Breast Cancer corner that is near and dear to my heart, right under my Fabulous Boob!

So as a busy mom this site is a Fave pick of mine for good Gossip and women stuff...

Not all the sites are a treat, some have more D-lebs than celebs, take TMZ for example. Silly useless videos of nothing and no one, I am really not interested that you caught up with Screech in the airport, again. The so call Queen of all media Perez Hilton is more or less the Queen of all his own useless drama. He drops more names than Paris Hilton does panties.

Who am I missing? Let me know if theres good stuff out there I need to get hooked on. I need my FIX!

Gossip on the Rocks...with a slice of scandal...

1 ounce Vodka
1 ounce Pomegranate Liqueur
1 slice fresh grapefruit
soda/tonic water

Muddle (smush) fresh grapefruit together with vodka and pomegranate liqueur. Add to shaker and shake well with ice. Serve on the rocks and garnish with a wedge of the grapefruit dipped in sugar. Enjoy with some ME time catching up on your favourite celebrities. If you donʼt want the alcohol, leave out the vodka and substitute liqueur with pomegranate juice.
