The original Pat the Bunny book invited kids to explore and discover things on each page. The Pat the Bunny app extends that experience with more interactivity. The narrator reads short lines of copy, inviting readers to help Paul and Judy on the pages. Each screen holds hidden surprises, encouraging kids to tap and swipe the screen. Kids can just go forward and back a page to discover a new activity or they can go to a main menu screen and choose an activity they really enjoy or one they haven't tried yet. I love that the navigation is all picture based; the only words that appear on the screen are the story words.

Along with the 14 interactive screens (which kids will love to visit over and over again), kids can switch to the colouring mode of the app. All the scenes shown in the app appear as black and white sketches. Like a magic wand, kids swipe their finger over the page to watch colours magically appear. No need to worry about colouring within the lines, the app function works more like revealing the colour image underneath but kids will love the surprise.
