Synopsis from Raincoast Books:

Lunch Lady and the Breakfast Bunch are on a school field trip to a famous art museum. But while Lunch Lady is busy taking in all the culture, the kids have caught onto something strange—some of the artwork looks suspiciously fake! Now Dee, Hector, and Terrence are determined to get to the bottom of this conspiracy, but Lunch Lady is too awed to catch on. Will she snap out of it and come to the rescue? Or will the Breakfast Bunch have to handle this operation alone?

The lunch lady at school always seems like the quiet time type who lives and breaths serving kids lunch. Lunch Lady and the Field Trip Fiasco, illustrates a whole other side to the lunch lady. An ever astute, gadget-wielding, crime-stopping super hero looking out for the kids beyond the lunch hour.

The kids loved the comic book format, just like other superhero stories they have read. Lunch Lady's gadgets (like her truth brownie) and her disguises (she makes a pretty cool pharaoh) had my kids riveted to the story. The graphic novel set-up gave energy to the story that wouldn't have been captured the same way if just written as a chapter book. I think after reading Lunch Lady, my kids will be looking at all cafiteria staff a little differently. This is book 6 within the Lunch Lady series.

You can add Lunch Lady and the Field Trip Fiasco to your personal library by visiting your local book store or visiting Raincoast Books. Visit our Kid's Books section for other great book recommendations. What are you reading with your kids?

I have to thank Jessica and Cassandra at Random House for my review copy.
