I think we all know how important daily exercise is in our lives, but sometimes it’s so hard to squeeze it in between meetings and laundry and swimming lessons. That’s one reason I started working out at home. I’ve been using the EA Sports Active’s More Workouts program and have been really enjoying it.
Then I discovered the Elite Fitness Pack from Thrustmaster. This doesn’t replace my EA Sports Active, but instead enhances my workout.
This ultimate 9 piece fitness kit comes with:
- 1 leg band band for holding the Nunchuk controller
- 1 armband for the Wii-mote (can also be used with the Wii-mote with MotionPlus)
- 2 flexible dumbbells for strengthening your wrists or ankles
- 1 lanyard to hang your MP3 player around your neck
- 1 pedometer for counting your steps in the game or out
- 1 foam floor mat (1.80m x 0.5m)
- 1 stepper or riser for your Wii balance board
- 1 carry bag for transporting your Wii balance board
* Wii system and controller not included
I’ve started using the two weights around my ankles to add extra oomph during my workout. The straps are a little scratchy but that’s not noticeable if you wear long enough socks. You could use these on your wrists too if you wanted to get more workout on your arms but I couldn’t get them wrapped tight enough to stop them from slipping. Perhaps after I’ve used them a few times and they'll become more supple (the weights, not my arms).
I already have a nunchuk holder that came with the original EA Sports Active program but having the second holder provided with the Thrustmaster kit meant my husband and I could now play a game of squash together.
I also used the mat too for the push-up routines. But what I really liked in this kit was the Wii Fit Board riser. I was a little worried about how the riser would perform in a workout since the Wii Fit Board just sits on top of them. There are recesses where the Wii Fit Board legs fit and when I did a step aerobics routine I was impressed that they didn’t give or move at all. And I wasn’t stepping lightly either. Add the ankle weights and I had quite the workout.
Since I keep my Wii Fit Board out, I’ve used the storage bag to hold the weights and other accessories (except the riser). The mat just rolls up and slides through the bag’s straps. Now I can hang my workout gear neatly on a hook in the closet until I need it.
I’ve been using my Thurstmaster Kit with the EA Sports Active fitness program, but you could use this with Wii Fit, Wii Fit Plus, U Shape, Fitness Coach and even on it’s own.
