Jamie Oliver‘s Food Revolution Los Angeles airs Tuesday, April 12 and looks like it’s going to be a great show! We’re having a bit of a party that day, with my teenager and I cooking up some of our favorite recipes from Jamie’s Food Revolution cookbook. Make sure to drop by Twitter on Wednesday April 13 at 7 pm with the hashtag #foodrevparty, when I team up with @jamieoliver and @foodrevteam to host a Twitter party! In the meantime, try out this great recipe for Chicken chow mein that I posted over on Chasing Tomatoes. It’s super easy, and I love how you can swap out the veggies for ones your kids would eat. Little people love noodles, so this will be a hit. Plus it’s far less salty than regular Chinese take out.

A friend of mine were having coffee Friday and she pulled out Heidi Swanson’s new book, Super Natural Everyday. I’m not ashamed to say that I drooled all over the pages because the photography is beautiful, and the recipes sound amazing. We go vegetarian about 2-3 days a week in our house, and not only does it cut costs in the grocery bill but we just love the food! A good way to start is with veggie burgers-home made means less salt and fillers, which is better for you! Hop on over to 101 Cookbooks and take a look.

I’m seeing more and more purees these days-on Food Network, in magazines, and over at Love and Olive Oil. This dish looks so delicious, and I think a puree might be a great way to get kids to eat more veggies! Or at least, picky husbands like mine.

Are you always stuck with a bunch of leftover Easter ham that you’re not sure what to do with? My teenager and I whipped up these French toast Ham and cheese sandwiches to have with some soup the other day.
