Every time I buy an eggplant at the store, someone invariably asks me what I do with it. My favorite ways to eat it are eggplant parmesan or grilled and tucked into sandwiches, so you can imagine my delight when I discovered that this recipe by Katie from The Muffin Myth brings both of them together! Don’t be afraid of egg plant, it’s delicious. Serve with a fresh green salad and you’re all set for a lovely light dinner.

The thing that first drew me to Family Feed Bag this week was the delectable blackberry pie on the front page. Focus Karen, focus! We can’t eat a pie for dinner-but certainly check it out for dessert. Further down I found this delectable recipe for Sweet Chili BBQ chicken. I love sticky, gooey chicken, and this fits the bill. With a little potato salad and some corn from the farm, you’ve got a late summer dinner on the deck to remember.

I love cherries! Ever since I sat in a food photography workshop at Blogher this summer and saw a brandied cherry sauce recipe that was used in a presentation, I’ve been thinking about them. Cherries are in the stores and if I want to try some, I’d better get cracking! So should you, with this great recipe from Bev Cooks.

Next week I have a plan to pick up around 50 pounds of tomatoes from the farm for canning, but after seeing this great recipe I think I’ll keep some aside just to make this soup. You can’t beat a good home made soup, and Joylicious really nailed this one. How about a grilled cheese sandwich on the side?

Okay, I will admit that I’m not the biggest fan of quinoa. It just doesn’t taste all that great to me, no matter what I’ve put it in. But the thought of it mixed with some herbs, cheese and onion, then fried until crispy intrigued me. I couldn’t resist-and as a result, I have found my very favorite way to eat quinoa.
