3 kids in school - I use plastic containers, big and small for everything in their lunches. it not only reduces the garbage, it ensures that they EAT EVERYTHING! each kid has their own colour of container that way there isn't any arguing or complaining. at the beginning of the school year they each pick their new colour.

I re-use baggies every day, and I use plastic tupperware containers wherever possible. Unfortunately, our preschool prefers baggies over tupperware containers for snacks because they take up a lot less room in the snack basket!

To keep my girls lunches litterless I try and use containers as much as possible, put the sandwich in a container, the grapes in one, the homemade cookies in another, problem is that gets awfully bulky so then it all ends up in a large backpack. We also always use cloth napkins. This is a great lunchbox though, my youngest would love it!

I like to buy lunch foods in big packages and then pack the kids' food for the day in reusable containers. It generates a lot less waste than the single serving packages and it's cheaper.

My oldest has a bento-box system that works great. I don't buy any prepackaged foods and just put everything in the containers. He uses a thermos instead of juice boxes. My daughter's about to start JK this fall and needs her own lunch bag too. I've sewn her a couple of snack packs to use.

I Like to take whatever is in packaging out first and put it in a reusable container. I like the tupperware that has a built in place for a spoon/fork/ and napking. and even a little spot thats handy for salad dressing or ranch for their veggies. I also like using ziploc bags and i reuse them too if they arent too messy or destroyed.

I use reusable sandwich containers, drinks, they get capri sun because the school collects the pouches for recycling and the money goes toward the school. I buy the larger bags of crackers, chips, etc. and put them in reusable containers. Every little bit helps!! ;-)
