Chaos Simplified: a day planner to simplify your chaos

chaoslogoSwimming on Monday. Parent Council meeting on Tuesday. Beavers on Thursday. Scholastic book orders. Doctor appointments. PA Days. When I became a parent I never realized I needed a PhD. in time management. Corri at Chaos Simplified has developed a day planner that should, well, simplify my chaos.

Unlike most day planners Chaos Simplified contains both a monthly view and a weekly view. But what makes this day planner unique is how the two calendars are combined. The bottom portion displays the month and the top portion displays the week. The page is split in half so when week one finishes you turn the top part of the page for week two and the bottom portion remains unchanged, until you turn the page for the next month. I love this! I can see a detailed week but also get an overview of the month ahead.

chaosmonthI also like how Chaos Simplified lays out the days. There's a space for morning, afternoon and evening, plus a space for 'today's priority' and supper plan. At the start of each month there's a chart for recording the month's expenses, family goals and notes and important dates. Chaos Simplified even leaves blank areas to make notes and includes a few address book pages (including information on spouses and children).

Now I can record both long and short term plans, organize dinners for the week and make notes on expenses all in one compact, coil-bound soft covered day planner.

I've already started using my Chaos Simplified. Now I know what dinner plans are and I haven't missed one important date. If it can help me keep my family organized, it must be good.

Right now I use the back of scrap papers and envelopes, randomly placed free calendars I never seem to look at, and a lot of yelling back and forth "do you have anything going on tonight?".

Our house is currently powered by a BlackBerry, and iPhone, a wall calendar, two daycare schedules, a birthday chart, anything clipped to the magnet on the garage door, some Post-It Notes and whatever hasn't migrated to the bottom of my purse. Help!

I've been using a small day planner, my outlook calendar, sticky notes and mental notes. They usually aren't all on the same page!

I'll be honest. I had this amazing calendar and since we started renovating it's been put in a really safe spot...really safe!

I need help!
2 boys in sports and a busy...busy schedule means without a system boys walk home from the arena. Woops!

I've been using Microsoft Outlook's calendar on my computer and then every evening printing out the next day's schedule. It's working out ok but is not the greatest for when I'm away from home and need to add something in. More than once something has been forgotten.
