Alphabet books are a pretty common concept book. I'm sure everyone has at least one in their child's home library. But what about an Alphabet book that benefits sick kids.
Absolute Alphabet is such a book.
Created and written by Agnes Bellegris from Toy Box Treasures, Absolute Alphabet depicts each letter of the alphabet on it's own page through both alliteration (Alexander admires absured acrobatic antics along Atlantic Avenue) and wonderful illustrations, all of which have been created by the visual arts students at Unionville High School. Along with the individual alphabet letters, there are also pages for the letter blends CH and TH, as well as the different letter sounds for hard and soft C and G.
But what really makes Absolute Alphabet special is that all proceeds go to support Adam's Dream Fund, which supports two very special programs at the Hospital for Sick Kids: Paediatric Oncology (Canacer) Research and the Therapeutic Clow Program. According to the book, nearly $1.5 million for SickKids Hospital have been raised over the past twelve years.

Perhaps this holiday season if you're thinking of picking up an alphabet book, take a look at Absolute Alphabet; you'll get a wonderful book while benefiting a children's charity.
