Morning sickness sucks.
It’s bad after I eat, it’s bad if I don’t eat and it’s bad those rare times I feel good and eat too much.
Oh and the computer screen totally makes it worse.
Great.
One more thing it must have been a man who coined the term ” Morning Sickness” - I would like to re name it ” If I am conscious sickness and sometimes even when I am sleeping sickness.”
I am happy I am pregnant, this bean was planned for , prayed for and there is nothing I adore more than being a mom.
So what’s your fool proof cure ?

Time? I didn’t really find anything that was foolproof, but some things worked for a while. Ginger was good. Saltines worked. Never getting hungry (i.e. constant snacking) helped. They all helped until they didn’t.
Congratulations on the pregnancy, but I’m sorry you are feeling sick. I hope it passes quickly.
Ginger tea. It helped; didn’t solve it, but helped.
I’m betting The Ginger People’s Ginger Chews, would have been super helpful, too.
Sqeeeeee!!!!! Congratulations!!!! So happy for you!!!!
Enough exclamation points, already, I know - but way to go, Allie!!!!!!!!!!
Sloppy kisses and hugs all over!!!
I thought it was just me who got seasick when on the compouter!! OMGosh it was awful! Let’s see..what helped me was mashed potatoes. It was one of the only things I could eat early on. And McDonald’s. I know. It wasn’t the healthiest start.
Diclectin.
The only thing that worked for me. I held off until the 3rd trimester in my first pregnancy, thinking I was somehow a hero for refusing the drugs. But when I stopped gaining weight because I was puking so much during the 3rd trimester, it was time to turn to the drugs.
With my second pregnancy, I asked for a prescription at my first doctor’s appointment (the one where they confirm that you are actually pregnant) and filled the prescription not long afterward.
Congrats Allie! (I just stalked your twitter stream to find out you were preggo
)
What worked for me was a) time…I had MS up till about 16-18 weeks.
and b) never letting myself get the slightest bit hungry. Yes, I know, how can you eat when you are about to lose it but you HAVE to! Keep your stomach from being empty. Eat small but frequent snacks.
Hope it passes for you soon! And again, congrats! So happy for you!
Congratulations on the pregnancy, Allie!
I too thought that 24/7 sickness was much more appropriate than “morning” sickness. What helped for me was eating regularly (including a before-bed banana snack or crackers beside the bed when I first woke up), sushi rolls (California rolls mostly) with lots of fresh ginger, and, well…lots of grease. I am lactose intolerant and normally a fairly healthy eater (except for my chocolate addiction, I guess) but all of a sudden I was craving and eating take-out pizza with lots of cheese; bacon and eggs; and McDonald’s! My theory was that I craved these foods because previous experience had taught me that grease was a good hangover cure. (Obviously experience from my pre-pregnancy days.) Guess it helps sop up that nausea! Anyway, I felt a bit guilty for eating such food but the cravings only lasted a few weeks then the nausea certainly didn’t disappear but seemed a little more manageable (maybe I just got used to it). The nausea actually hung around for about 4 months in all, but then, blissfully, disappeared…
Hope it disappear soon for you!
