Thanks for your comment Kim. I agree with your comment about other people not understanding. I think a lot of people call themselves introverts because they are uncomfortable in new situations but that's not it.

Thankfully my 2 oldest are like their dad, extroverted, living for social interaction but my youngest is more like me so that will be a challenge.

Great article! I see many of the same traits in you as I do myself. I too consider myself an introvert. At the morning bell I am standing (alone) with my two children in tow, with only polite smiles and a quick 'hi' extended to a few recognizable parents. I think the worst part of being an introvert is that the extroverts just don't understand us. I have been labelled a snob on too many occassions because I am 'not friendly' enough. Like you, I do try...but it is just so unnatural for me and makes the whole process feel that much more awkward (I just really don't know what to say to people!) I do worry that I am going to 'pass' on these traits to my children - even though I know that it is just my own personality at play. Thanks so much for sharing!

Great list, I completely forgot about international talk like a pirate day. I missed dressing up the kiddies in eye patches and filling their pockets with dabloons. Oh well -- We'll have a family talk like a pirate day Oct 19th :)

Thanks Sarah. And it's easy enough to do. Since it's just free form lines you don't need to be an artist or sculpture (which I am not).
