You are 3 weeks pregnant! Are you wondering about early pregnancy symptoms? While you can’t yet feel the changes of pregnancy, your little one is on the way!
Once fertilized, the single-cell ovum begins multiplying into two, then four, then eight cells and so on until it forms a blastocyst after about seven days. Your sweet little blastocyst is composed of two layers: an outer layer which will eventually form the placenta and an inner layer which becomes the embryo. You won’t be privy to the information for months and months, but you’ve got either a little girl blastocyst or a little boy blastocyst growing in that womb of yours. Your baby’s sex is determined from the moment of conception though she is barely the size of a grain of sand.
Early pregnancy symptoms might included an early and light period – spotting and mild cramping – which can be caused at the time of implantation, when the fertilized egg attaches to the uterine lining. If you experience early pregnancy symptoms such as heavy, vibrant red or very painful spotting or bleeding, use a menstrual pad to gauge the amount of flow and speak with your doctor to rule out complications.
