To educate parents on the dangers of the products we use in our homes and to help them access safer ones that are better for our kids, our pets and the environment.
Hi everyone! I was just on the Skin Deep site and went to the Baby Care section. I looked up some Johnson & Johnson products and was alarmed with what I read. The Head to Toe Baby Wash (original) was given a 4/10 meaning that it had a moderate hazard. The ingredients in it are linked to cancer, developmental/reproductive toxicity, allergies/immunotoxicity, and a host of other health concerns. I had stopped using Johnson & Johnson products quite a while ago because I was told they were not good for the health of my daughter but I wasn't aware of the specifics. I am upset that these products are on the market and that I did use them for the first year of my daughter's life. This is a great site to use to find out about the products you are currently using. Please share your findings with us.

I've tried Melaleuca products and love their toothpaste and dishwashing soap, but cannot stand the smell of their tub & tile cleaner nor their dishwasher detergent.
I was hoping to be able to get everything in one brand, but I haven't had any luck.
Here are some of my favourites:
Moisturizer: Green Beaver- nice and light and doesn't feel greasy
Body lotion: Burt's Bees or Jason
lipbalm- Burt's Bees
Deodorant: Dr. Mist
Laundry detergent- I don't actually use this any more. I use laundry magnets. I use natural bleaches and stain removers like from Nature Clean when necessary
Toothpaste:Melaleuca fluoride free cinnamon / Jason's
Dishwasher detergent: Nature clean or Ecover
I had concerns as well when my kids were growing up, My son has asthma and was on two puffers at the time. I became a customer and We switched our entire home over to Melaleuca products as they don't have chemicals in their product line and have been a green mfg company for 24 years. I fell in love with the products so much.that I decidided to share the concept with others and now I work from home. They are a mfg company that cares about our family health and the environment.

(This is also a great video from Victoria B.C. about the oceans and chemicals.
I have checked out SkinDeep but not the other one. Thanks for that, I will check it out. I have switched all of those also along with the household cleaners that I use. Where are you finding your new products?
There is a great site called SkinDeep (cosmetics database) that I use, and in Canada check out http://www.lesstoxicguide.ca/
We've switched our soaps, bath wash and I'm currently switching my creams and make up...
